“The Warning of the White Mice,” is the slogan of this 1918 original WWI vintage advertisement for Hammermill Bond Paper Co. Shown in the ad is a soldier with gas mask and checking the white mice for possible gas attack as they would warn the soldiers because they were more sensitive to the fumes than the soldiers. How Hammermill Bond was adjusting their paper manufacturing to the war is highlighted in the ad. Hammermill Bond Paper Company was headquartered at Erie, Pennsylvania. See the scan.
The ad is 8x12 and in b&w. It is in good to very good condition with some aging from a magazine that is almost 100 years old. It has nice detail and cut from a vintage magazine with uneven cut at left side. Please see the scan.
Vintage advertisements and articles are becoming more and more collectible for their nostalgia look and unique eye-appeal. They also are suitable for framing and are becoming more scarce as the supply of vintage paper products continues to decrease. Please note this is an original, vintage product advertisement and NOT a reproduction.
