“Elastic Stockings but even her husband never guessed“ is the theme of this 1942 WW2 Era original vintage advertisement for Bauer & Black Elastic Stockings. The ad features a nice drawing of a man watching his watch adjust her stockings. This ad is 5.5x14
A BONUS is another ad on the opposite side the same page for Lightolier Lamps and Fixtures. The ad features a neat photo of an old Lightolier lamp with shade and fish. Please see the scan. This is a small 5x6 ad. Below this ad there are smaller ads for Vermont Maid Syrup and Hires Root Beer. In addition, there is a picture of beautiful star Dona Drake in her “violin costume” that is 4x12. She was starring in the film, “Louisiana Purchase,” at the time.
The ads are 5.5x14 and will be sent uncut on the original page they appeared. They are in very good condition with some edge aging.
REMEMBER: these are NOT 2 separate items but the front and back of a SINGLE page. They are both being listed because of possible multiple interests or topics.
Vintage advertisements and articles are becoming more and more collectible for their nostalgia look and unique eye-appeal. They also are suitable for framing and are becoming more scarce as the supply of vintage paper products continues to decrease. Please note this is an original, vintage product advertisement and NOT a reproduction.
